A Little Inspiration

I’m obsessed with Pinterest to say the least, and as I was perusing the pins under ‘Inspiration’, I found one quote (okay a million) that really resonated with me. The quote was:

“At any given moment you have the power to say: This is not how the story is going to end”.

Just read that over a few times.

The quote also reminds me of another that goes sort of like this:

“You have the power to change your life with one decision”.

I don’t know if that’s the actual quote, but it gets the point across.

Seriously though, we can change our lives completely if we want. What’s holding us back?

For me (in the context of traveling): my dog, lack of financial security, a feeling of incompetence, and fear.

That’s the word I was looking for. Fear. We all have some kind of reincarnation of fear, whether it be spiders or failing at life. How do we overcome fear?

It’s an age old question with lots of speculation as to what the answer might be, but I don’t think there is a universal solution. Perhaps, just like our DNA, it’s different for every single person.

I’ve recently been reading Elizabeth Gilbert’s new book, “Big Magic”, and boy does it hit the nail on the head for this post. Elizabeth talks about living a creative life, and basically how to overcome your fears and let inspiration truly change your life.

I’ve been trying to incorporate some of the things she talks about in her book, and I’ve actually felt more creative. (I mean, I just busted out two blog posts in the last hour, and I’ve had writers block for months).
