What a day it’s been! I woke up at 4AM to catch a 7 o’clock flight. Connected at Denver, and finally arrived at Bozeman, MT around 2:30 PM. It feels so weird being 2 hours behind home. I tried to call my mom and she was about to go to bed. It’s 7:30 where I am.
Anyways, my day was pretty smooth sailing. I was a little worried about traveling by myself, but it turned out to be a lot easier than expected. I flew with United Airlines. It was okay, I guess. Personally, I felt super crowded in my seat. Also, the seats were really uncomfortable. I could barely fall asleep.
I think the worst part of the day was my 3 hour layover. It was frustrating because I didn’t really know what to do. I got food, but then I sat for about 2 hours. I couldn’t use my laptop or phone because the batteries were super low, and I couldn’t find a plug. Also, the Denver Airport is a little confusing.
When I arrived at Bozeman, I took a shuttle to my hotel. I’m staying at the Hampton Inn, and it’s gorgeous! I walked around for about half an hour and just took pictures! I’m tagging all of my photos on Instagram with #delaneytakesyellowstone so definitely check those out!
I think I got a sunburn though. Like I was only out for a little bit. How does this happen! I’m not in PA anymore!
Anyways, back to the shuttle, my driver was very knowledgeable about the area and Yellowstone.
He told me about the geography and how the snow caps aren’t very big this year, which means a dry spell is probably coming. Also, he knew a ton about he re-introduction of the wolves in Yellowstone National Park! The wolves, which were once very populous, were re-introduced in 1995, after being over harvested. Not only do these wolves help keep the elk population in check, they also decrease soil erosion, and many other wonderful things. They are literally changing the ecosystem for the better!
At the hotel, I went swimming for a bit, and ordered pizza. Now I’m watching TV, and will be heading off to bed soon, because I will be catching a bus to Yellowstone tomorrow at 7AM!
I hope I make a good impression.
